i always knew our school hall had the highest ceiling. i always knew it was a place where we had to listen half-heartedly to boring talks/announcements that no one really cared about.
but now!
the hall is apparently, also a place to rot and die.
this is s R-E-V-E-L-A-T-I-O-N. -shaowen
mass checking is a very, very bad idea. i would have rather checked the papers in class. i have no idea who came up with this ingenius plan to stuff the 4E/5N students for paper-checking.
BECAUSE.
-they make sure you're smack in the middle of the hall so you can see the screen. this also means you are far away from the fans. radiant heat is released from all bodies, so ITS FREAKING HOT.
-its not as if the bloody high ceiling is helping the ventilation.
-they make you sit there for period after period on your butt. which begins to hurt after some time.
-legs start to cramp up. people tend to want to stretch around in the middle of copying down corrections.
-people start to get restless. especially when the person talking IS NOT too interesting.
come on lah, who really listens to 1h40mins of English Corrections.
-everyone ends up talking to their friends because, in such a large crowd. its harder to get caught and be singled out.
-at this point the teacher will scream. 'ALL GRADUATING CLASSESS, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION! your O Levels are only 3 months away. THREE MONTHS means. 12 weeks. and you have 8 subjects. WHAT IS TWELVE DIVIDE BY 8?! YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE TIME!'
and the teacher will launch into a full-fledged speech about lack of time.
all i have to say is. I GET IT. -.-
all the teachers say the same thing. one after another, it gets quite tiring. and my head will hurt. like how my butt hurts from sitting so long.
-how do they honestly expect us to pay attention for 4 straight periods when its hot and our legs hurt?
so. conclusion? never do mass checking ever again. 2 days of it is enough for me.
so tmr, we start normal lessons. which im also not very thrilled about. in a way, normal lessons are more taxing then exams.
i think.
okay. so much for mother 'intensive'. of course, hartini gave us enough homework to occupy us for the rest of the week.
BUT. she didnt come to school today. TODAY. of all times.
she's a funny woman, i tell you. and, we dont have MT tmr. -.- soooo intensive man.
halfway through the torturous mass checking, my good friend Mdm Jaya called me out.
i got the shock of my life. i kept thinking that the school was sending me to jail for some reason.
no, no exaggeration. i really thought of that. turns out, i had to sign some O Level document at the office.
HA. what adrenaline does to you.
the sec 2s and 3s are off for OLE. and the sec 1s and 4s are left staring at each other in school. they must be staring at our boys' long pants, fantasizing about a pair on themselves.
so. the school is half dead. i half-envy the OLE ppl. but hey, i had my chance already. unlike last yr's sec 4 batch.
made me think of Mt. Ophir and how damn fun it was. HEE.
and also. how fast time flies.
mmm wadyou say?
that you only meant well
of course you did of course it is -imogen (:
